CWDS Annual Awards Qualification Criteria

Central Washington Dressage Society presents annual awards which recognize member achievements throughout the year. There are several categories in which awards are presented. These categories are:

Active Rider Certificate - the first time a rider achieves 50% or better at any level.

Training Level through FEI Medals - the first time a rider earns 55% or better at each level.

High Average at Introductory through Fourth levels – Horse and rider combination must earn 3 scores from 2 different CWDS sponsored shows and from at least 2 different tests in the level.

High Average FEI, High Average Freestyle and High Average Versatility – Horse and rider combination must earn 2 scores from 2 different CWDS sponsored shows.

High Average Youth Rider 18 and under – Horse and rider combination must earn 3 scores from 2 different CWDS sponsored shows and from at least 2 different standard dressage tests, may be from more than one level. Only scores from standard USEF or FEI tests count Intro through Grand Prix).

High Average Tweens Rider 19-38 - Horse and rider combination must earn 3 scores from 2 different CWDS sponsored shows and from at least 2 different standard dressage tests, may be from more than one level. Only scores from standard USEF or FEI tests count (Intro through Grand Prix).

High Average Jack Benny Rider 39-49 - Horse and rider combination must earn 3 scores from 2 different CWDS sponsored shows and from at least 2 different standard dressage tests, may be from more than one level. Only scores from standard USEF or FEI tests count Intro through Grand Prix).

High Average Royalty Still Riding Rider 50 and over - Horse and rider combination must earn 3 scores from 2 different CWDS sponsored shows and from at least 2 different standard dressage tests, may be from more than one level. Only scores from standard USEF or FEI tests count Intro through Grand Prix).

Beckridge Patrex Equine Masters Lifetime Achievement Award – In memory of Beckridge Patrex, Grand Prix competitor, ambassador for the Morgan Horse in Dressage, patient teacher and best friend, this award recognizes the achievement of those horses who demonstrate the qualities of a well-rounded individual by meeting the following criteria: earn a 60% or better at 2nd level or above, compete in a Musical Freestyle class, (these may be from any CWDS sponsored show or USEF recognized competition), perform a dressage demonstration for a non-dressage audience and be ridden in a dressage lesson or clinic with a rider other than their owner or regular rider. These criteria may be fulfilled over any number of years but must be while in the ownership of the member. Once completed, the member can submit evidence of completion to the Awards Chairman for award presentation at the following annual awards gala.

Members competing at USEF recognized competitions may submit ONE score from the show season to be counted towards their average for CWDS annual awards as long as the other criteria are met as well.  All scores earned at competitions not sponsored by CWDS must be submitted by the rider to the awards chairman no later than September 30, 2010.

CWDS sponsored shows that will count for 2010 annual awards are:

CWDS Spring Schooling Show – April 17, 2010
CWDS Spring into Summer Schooling Show – May 22, 2010
CWDS Summer Schooling Show –June 12, 2010
CWDS Schooling Show Championships – September 18, 2010

Riders must be a member of CWDS at the time scores are earned in order for them to be eligible for the annual awards.
